Candice Pinto Biography

Candice Pinto is an Indian supermodel from Mumbai. She won the 7th GladRags Mega Model contest held in March 2000 at the age of 19 which shot her to instant fame in the modelling world. In 2002, she repeated her success by winning Miss Tourism International 2002 held by D’ Touch International Sdn Bhd Foundation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was crowned from 28 beauty queens across the world and she is the first Indian to reach this achievement. She is a successful ramp model and has frequently appeared in Lakme Fashion Week and India Fashion Week and has been featured as a cover model for many leading fashion and entertainment magazines.

She was born into a Catholic family in Mumbai. Her school and college education were completed in Mumbai and she holds a Master’s degree in Economics. She has three siblings and alongside her brother she started modelling during her college days. Initially her parents were against her passion to pursue a career in modelling. However they later supported her and also helped her to enter the Gladrags contest in 1999, where she emerged as the winner. She was 19 then, doing her graduation. Winning this pageant was a turning point of her modelling career and through her hard work and determination she achieved the title of supermodel. 

Since the age of 19, she has represented India at several international level beauty pageants. At the age of 20, she participated in Top Model of the World 2001 contest, held in Munich, where she won the subtitle – Best Body and also managed to finish among the top 10 finalists. She won Miss India Tourism 2002, which gave her entry to Miss Tourism International 2002. She became the first Indian model to win this crown. Since then she had an illustrious modelling career for about one decade.
