Bichu Thirumala Biography 
Bichu Thirumala is a poet and popular lyricist of Malayalam cinema. He, along with O. N. V. Kurup, is known for the distinct style of arranging beautiful and simple words in film songs of Malayalam and the contributions given by these two poets to Malayalam cinema is immensely huge. Bichu Thirumala is also known for writing instant lyrics to fit the tunes of the song. He is most popular for movies like Thenum vayambum, Trishna, Bhaja govindam and Kadinjool kalyanam. His other movies include Bhaja govindam, Soothrakaari,Aaradhana, Urakkam Varaatha Raathrikal, Hemantharaathri, Anubhavam, Aalinganam Akkal dama, Naalumani pookkal, Jnan nine premikkunnu, Kaithapoo, Adavukal pathinettu, Rowdy Ramu, Avalude raavukal, Pappayude swantham apoos, Yodha, Jackpot, Kaanamarayathu, Manichirathaazhu, Vietnam colony and Prayanam.

Bichu Thirumala has won state awards twice – Mainakam and Thenum Vayampum (1981) and Kadinjool Kalyanam (1991). Lyrics of the one and only Malayalam movie of music director A.R.Rehman were written by Bichu Thirumala. Among all music directors, he was most successful with A.T.Ummer.
