Bhim Sain Bassi Biography 
Bhim Sain Bassi born on 25th February 1956. He completed his graduation in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce of University of Delhi. A Law Graduate Mr. Bassi passed the Union Public Service Commission examination at the age of 21. He began his police career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Pondicherry. B.S. Bassi is married to Sunira Bassi and the couple has a sone and daughter. Sunira Bassi is also a government officer posted with the Northern Railway as the Chief Traffic Planning Manager.
BS Bassi has served in various capacities in Delhi and other parts of the India, including Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Goa. B.S. Bassi the Indian civil servant, law enforcement officer, and the current Commissioner of Police, Delhi since August 2013. Bassi still has few months left for his retirement but he has started sharing all his responsibilities with his senior team setting the stage for his departure.
Bhim Sain Bassi is Commissioner of Police, Delhi since August 2013. He has previously served as the Special Commissioner of Police (Administration) of Delhi Police (2012–13), Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) of Delhi Police (2011-2012), Director General of Police of Goa Police (2009-2011) and Inspector General of Police of Chandigarh Police (2000-2002). Bassi has been conferred the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service and the Police Medal for meritorious service.
B S Bassi has been instrumental in three upcoming mobile apps which will be used for reporting economic offences, crime against women and cases of petty thefts. The first of these applications will be connected with Economic Offences Wing, the second will help Special Unit to monitor crime against Women and Children and the third will work as a virtual police station. His relations with current Chief Minister of Delhi have always been strained and talked about in political circles.
