Baby Nainika Biography

Baby Nainika is a child actress associated with Tamil film industry.  She made her debut with Vijay’s latest release – Theri released in 2016. She plays Vijay’s daughter in the film. She is the daughter of famous south Indian actress Meena. Meena has also entered silver screen as a child artist in 1980s before she moved to adult roles in the 1990s. Meena married Vidyasagar in 2009 and the couple was blessed with a baby girl – Nainika. She was only four years old when she received this film offer in 2015.

When the film’s director Atlee approached Meena to cast her daughter for the child artist’s role in his upcoming flick, Meena gave him a green signal. Meena now plays a significant role in shaping her daughter’s career, the same way her mother did when she was young. Meena made her silver screen debut in 1982 through the Tamil movie ‘Nenjangal’ in 1982. Since then she is fully active in the film industry for more than three decades till now. Theri - is produced by Kalai Dhanu. Since the movie is released, she is in the spotlight and the movie with positive reviews from critics is already a super hit. The movie hit theatres on 14 April 2016, on the Eve of New Year.  

Baby Nainika was born on 1 January 2011, a New Year eve. Her father Vidyasagar is a Bangalore-based software engineer, while her mother Meena Durairaj is a leading south Indian actress. She has no siblings. Nainika made her film debut at the age of 5. Now she is studying in first standard. Since release she is nick named as ‘Theri Baby’. She appeared in around 40 scenes of the movie, and thus plays a pivot role. She also dubbed herself.
