Atul Mongia Biography

Atul Mongia is an actor associated with Bollywood cinema, known for playing brief supporting roles. He also works as casting director in the industry and has 15 years of experience in this field. He was seen in brief roles in Bollywood movies such as Love Sex aur Dhokha, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Chameli etc. He also conducts acting workshops soon after the job of casting is completed. As a casting director, some of his Bollywood works include – Titli, Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Chameli, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Ragini MMS, Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, Shor in the city, Queen, Lootera, Shanghai, Daawat-E-Ishq, Baar Baar Dekho, 3 Storeys, One Night Stand, Pizza, Ek Deewana Tha, David, NH10, A death in the Gunj, Pari, Lipstick Under My Burkha and many more.

 

He was born on 30 September 1978. Atul has been training actors since 2000, at the very young age of just 21. He taught acting at Imago acting school in Delhi, founded by theatre veteran Barry John. Many actors of today have learnt acting lessons from this experienced artist, who has more than two decades of experience in the industry. Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepak Dobriyal are some of the Bollywood actors who learnt acting lessons from him. He also works as Casting Director and Acting Workshop Director in the industry.

 

Apart from his role as casting director and trainer, he has also scripted and directed a few independent films. He scripted four independent films. He worked as the associate director on Ragini MMS, Titli and Lootera, and is known for his association with Lootera director, Vikramaditya Motwane. He has also closely worked with filmmakers, Zoya Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Sharat Kataria, Navdeep Singh, Kanu Behl and Reema Kagti for whom he conducted acting workshops and worked in the role of casting director. As an actor, he was first seen in the character role of Kashyap for the movie, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.
