Athiya Shetty Biography

Athiya Shetty is a noted actress of Bollywood cinema. She is better known as the daughter of Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty and director Mana Shetty. She debuted in the romantic action film Hero in 2015, which was a box office flop. In 2017 she played parallel lead in Bollywood comedy film, Mubarakan. The film was a super hit, and her role as Binkle Sandhu was well appreciated. She was casted opposite Arjun Kapoor in the movie, and Anil Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz played pivot roles in the film. She became the brand ambassador for the Indian franchise of Maybelline New York, and has been featured on cover page in many leading Indian film and fashion magazines.

Athiya was born into a filmy family. This star kid was born to Suniel Shetty and Mana Shetty on 5 November 1992 in Mumbai. Her schooling was completed at American School of Bombay, and in those days she used to participate in school plays aside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. At the age of 18, she moved to New York for advanced studies in cinema. She enrolled at New York Film Academy to study acting. Since then there were speculations that she is to debut films soon, and she remained in spot light.

She was announced as the lead heroine of Hero opposite Sooraj Pancholi and the movie was a launch pad for both the star kids. The movie was produced by Salman Khan, who did playback singing for its title track too. A remake of Subhash Ghai's classic with the same name, the film got delayed following the pending case against the lead actor, related to the death of actress Jiah Khan. Though the movie flopped at box office, she received Filmfare award nomination for the Best Female Debut.
