Asin Thottumkal Biography 
Asin is an Indian actress and model whose full name is Asin Thottumkal. She concentrates mainly in Tamil and Hindi films. She was born on 26th October 1985 in Kochi in Kerala in a Nasrani Travancore Christian family. Her parents are Joseph Thottumkal and Seline Thottumkal.
She studied at Naval Public School and then at St. Teresa School in Kochi and completed her higher secondary education. She joined the St. Teresa College for Women and obtained her Bachelors’ degree in English literature.
Her debut film was Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. Her film with Ravi Teja Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi was a big hit and gave her good name. Her debut film in Tamil was M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi with Jayam Ravi. This was a mega hit. Then she acted in many films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industry.
Some of the films that she has acted include Lakshmi Narasimha, Gharshana, Chakram, Ullam Ketkumae, Ghajini, Majaa, Sivakasi, Vel, Dasavathaaram, Ghajini, London Dreams, Kaavalan, Ready, Aalwar, Majaa, Sivakasi, Varalaru, Annavaram, etc.
She is the brand ambassador of various products like Clinic All Clear Shampoo, Lux, Amrutanjan, Big Bazzar, Parachute Hair Oil, Colgate Maxfresh Tooth Paste, Mirinda, Spinz Talcum Powder, Tanishq, Goldplus Jewelry, Tata Sky, etc.
Her debut film in Hindi was Ghajini with Aamir Khan. She got positive reviews for the film. She acted in the dual role for the first time in the film Dasavathaaram with Kamal Haasan. She acted with Ajith Kumar in the film Varalaaru. Her film Annavaram was a mega hit. Her film with Ajith Aalwar was a failure but the film Pokkiri with Vijay was a success.
She has received Kalaimamani award from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the year 2009. She got Filmfare Best Telugu Actress award for the film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Filmfare Tamil Best Actress award for the film Ghajini, Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for the Hindi film Ghajini. She has received Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Female and IIFA Star Debut Award. She won Santhosham Best Actress Award for her performance in the film Shivamani 9848022338. She also has received ITFA Best Actress Award and Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female.
