Ashvini Yardi Biography

Ashvini Yardi is a film producer associated with Bollywood. As a film producer she has delivered numerous hits like OMG – Oh My God!, Fugly and Singh Is Bliing. 72 Miles and Bhaji in Problem are two more Bollywood projects produced by her. She entered the film production scene after spending 20 years in Indian television industry. In association with film star Akshay Kumar, she started a new production company, Grazing Goat Pictures, whose maiden venture - OMG – Oh My God!, was a huge blockbuster hit and was well praised by critics as well. The production company aims at quality stuff with good content.

In her long association of 10 years with ZEE TV, she has worked for several popular daily soaps like Saat Phere, Sailaab, Kasamh Se, Sarrkar, Teen Bahuraaniyaan, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Ghar ki Lakshmi Betiyaan and Banegi Apni Baat. She has also worked as an assistant director of Kunal Kohli for a few television soaps. The concept of singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge and Lil' Champs were also born in her master brain, before she quit ZEE to join Colors. She was instrumental in making several popular shows on colors - Uttaran, Balika Vadhu, Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Veer Shivaji and Laado which increased the popularity of Colors TV. She worked on rural themes and social issues related to women on Colors, while other channels focused on urban story lines. Her experiments worked for the Channel.

She served as programming head of Colors TV when she gave up the job to explore film production. After co-producing a few Bollywood films, her next venture is a Marathi film starring Tanisha Mukherji and Sumeet Raghavan. Through her debut film venture, she was able to deliver a good social message to the audience. The movie was made on the theme of – Business in the name of God, an eye opener!
