Ashu Trikha Biography

Ashu Trikha is a Bollywood film director and producer, who marked his debut with 2002 romantic film, Deewaanapan starring Arjun Rampal, Dia Mirza, Om Puri and Vinod Khanna. Ashu has directed a few more Bollywood films, but with limited success. Sheesha, Alag, Baabarr, Zindagi Tere Naam, Enemmy and Koyelaanchal are his movies later. Veerey Ki Wedding was his last release, released in the year 2017. He frequently worked with Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty, and also gave opportunity to his son, Mimoh Chakraborty. In fact the father-son duo worked together in Ashu’s 2013 film, Enemmy which was only average at box office.

Ashu Trikha was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. After working in the industry as an assistant for a few years, he marked his debut in the year 2002. Deewaanapan starring Arjun Rampal & Dia Mirza was his first film as a full-fledged director. The movie starred Vinod Khanna playing Dia Mirza’s father. But the movie was a box office flop. After that he made a string of flops, in a career spanning to more than 15 years. Ashu frequently worked with Vinod Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty, Suniel Shetty and Diya Mirza. But none of them could revive his Bollywood career.

In 2018 he came to spotlight after his last film, Koyelaanchal released in 2014. He came to news with the release of his latest flick, Veerey Ki Wedding starring Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Jimmy Sheirgill. The controversy was over the film title. Yet another movie, titled Veere Di Wedding starring Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor was also slated to release in 2018, and the movie’s title resembled very much. However Veere Di Wedding got released a few months later. Veere Di Wedding was a blockbuster, while Ashu’s Veerey Ki Wedding flopped at box office.
