Asaduddin Owaisi Biography

Asaduddin Owaisi is an Indian politician belonging to the regional party - All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin, a party of Muslims and is fondly called Naqeeb-e-Millat by his followers. He currently serves as the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. As an eminent politician of the party, he has been elected to Lok sabha thrice from Hyderabad constituency, Telangana. His performance in the previous Lok sabha earned him Sansad Ratna Award in 2014. His father Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi was a prominent figure of the party, who served as its president till his death. His younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is also a politician and an MLA of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, belonging to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.

Asaduddin Owaisi was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh to former parliamentarian Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi in 1968. His father has been elected to parliament for 6 consecutive terms. His schooling and graduation were done at Hyderabad. Alter he completed L.L.B, and Barrister-at-Law from London. He has two siblings of which one is a journalist and editor, while the second brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is also a politician and an MLA. He has married twice and currently married to Farheen Owaisi. He has 6 children.

 
Asaduddin Owaisi was active in the state politics since early 1990s and got elected for the first time to state legislative assembly in the year 1994. After serving a full term he was re-elected in 1999 as well. He contested for parliament elections for the first time in 2004 and won from Hyderabad. He got elected to parliament in 2009 and 2013 successively. In 2009 a case was charged against him for beating up Syed Saleemuddin, a polling agent of TDP in Maghalpura.
