Arun Benny Biography

Arun Benny is an upcoming Malayalam film actor mostly known for supporting roles. His most noticed roles include – Drishyam, Nakhangal, Medulla Oblongata, Koothara, Nee Ko Njaa Cha and Geethaanjali. He is to make his debut as a hero through a Tamil movie directed by Ravi Thyagarajan. He started his career as a model and made his film debut through youth oriented movie - Nee Ko Njaa Cha (Ninne Kollum jnanum Chaavum). Before that he also worked as an assistant film director of Malayalam movies for a short period. Currently he is also a member of celebrity cricket league – Kerala strikers. Before this he has also played for many cricket clubs of Kerala.

He was born in Murinjappalam, Thiruvananthapuram city in the year 1983. Vijachandran Arun is his real name. Benny was associated with theatre before his entry to Malayalam cinema and entertainment industry. He also worked as a model for hobby and also an assistant film director to learn more about movies. Acting has been his real passion. He is a cricketer too and has played under many clubs. Currently he plays for IPL team - Kerala strikers. He is known as a popular batsman for the team.

He made his film debut in the year 2013 with the commercial hit – Nee Ko Njaa Cha, where he portrayed the role of Pappu. Later he appeared in supporting roles in a series of Malayalam movies like Geetanjali, Medulla Oblongata, Koothara etc. He played a notable role in 2013 Malayalam thriller – Nakhangal directed by Suresh Krisshnan and is to make his Tamil debut soon.
