Arnab Goswami Biography
Arnab Goswami (full name: Arnab Ranjan Goswami) (born 9 October 1973) is an Indian journalist and television news anchor. He is the managing director of the news channel Republic TV which he cofounded along with Rajeev Chandrasekhar He has won many awards and honors.
Arnab was born in Guwahati in Assam in a family of jurists. He is a son of the army officers and had to finish his schooling in various cities. After completing his 10th standard in Mount St. Mary’s School in Delhi, he did his higher secondary from Kendriya Vidyalaya. Then he got his graduation in Sociology from Hindu College. Then he got his master’s degree in Social Anthropology from Oxford University. Then he served as the visiting fellow at the International Studies Department at Cambridge University.
He started his career in television news broadcast with NDTV 24*7 in 1995. Then he did News Tonight on DD Metro. At that time, he interviewed Sonia Gandhi. He hosted the popular Newshour show that was aired every night. The new analysis show Newsnight which he anchored won the Best News Anchor of Asia in 2004 during the 2004 Asian Television Awards.
He has interviewed more than 200 politicians and analysts during the Trust Vote in October 2008 related to 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings. He hosted a special program Frankly Speaking with Arnab. He has featured many eminent persons for this show. He has also penned a book titled Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge.
