Anuradha Mehta Biography

Anuradha Mehta is a model and south Indian film actress, best known for the Telugu blockbuster Arya (2004) directed by Sukumar. She was successfully paired with Allu Arjun, who became an overnight star, with the movie. However Anuradha failed to gain attention from audience milked in Allu Magic and after doing a few movies, she faded away from film field. She is still remembered as Geeta alias Geetanjali for her debut movie – Arya.

 

Nuvvante Nakishtam (2005) was her next release. This Telugu romance film was written, produced and directed by E. V. V. Satya Narayana. She starred aside Aryan Rajesh and Allari Naresh for this movie. The movie was panned by critics and was a failure at box office too. In 2006, she made her Kannada debut through Ajay, opposite Puneeth Rajkumar. Her debut movie was a remake of Telugu blockbuster Okkadu, where Anuradha played the lead heroine role – Paddu. The movie received bad reviews from critics and attained 2 stars out of 5 and once again, Anuradha’s career faced a downfall.

 

Two Telugu movies were released in 2007 – Maha Raja Sri and Veduka. Though Maharajasri was an old fashioned movie with twists and turns, it was not enough to draw audience to theatres. In this movie she worked aside Rishi who played a mechanical engineer and Nikhita. With an outdated subject with a very weak screenplay and poor direction, movie bombed at box office. She played second lead in Veduka, aside Raja and Poonam Bajwa. This predictable story also met with disaster. Anuradha’s last release was Honganasu – a romantic Kannada movie. She acted aside Anjali and Prem Kumar in this love triangle. The film produced by Nenapirali Movies failed to meet with expectations and was declared a disaster.
