Anup Jalota Biography 
Anup Jalota is a popular ghazal singer of India. He is also known for bhajans. He is popularly known as the "Bhajan Samraat". In 2012, he was awarded with Padma Shri by government of India for his contributions to Indian music. Some of his popular bhajans include - Aisi Lagi Lagan, Main Nahi Makhan Khayo, Rang De Chunariya, Jag Me Sundar Hai Do Naam and Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini. He was the anchor of the program - Dharam Aur Hum, telecasted in Star Plus during 2002 - 05 period. Most recently he has celebrated his 60th birthday. He has recorded 100’s of songs till now.
Anup Jalota was born in Nainital, Uttarakhand on 29 July, 1953. His father Purushottam Das Jalota was also a singer, popular with bhajans who hails from Sham Chowrasi Gharana of Punjab. Jalota started his musical career as a chorus singer in All India Radio. He has married thrice. First two relations ended in divorce. He was formally married to Sonali Rathod, a successful ghazal singer who later married Roop Kumar Rathod. Medha Jalota, niece of former Indian Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral is his present wife.

He has released Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj’s compositions in his voice as CDs. In 2008 he recorded the title track "Golden Memorable Yaadein" for the CD "Noorani Chehra" during the occasion of Golden Jubilee of HH Aga Khan. His recent album was held at Mumbai on August 7, 2013.
