Anuja Sathe Biography

Anuja Sathe is a noted actress associated with Marathi film industry. She has also acted in a few Marathi soaps, and in 2016 made her debut to Hindi television through Tamanna aired on Star plus, where she plays the female lead. She has acted in Marathi televisions series like – Agnihotra, Mandala Don Ghadicha Dav and Lagori Maitri Returns, and all the shows were aired on Star Pravah. She has also co-hosted one show for the same channel - Visava – Ek Ghar Manasarkha in 2013. A noted stage actress she has also been associated with Marathi plays such as Shobha Yatra and Uttar Ratra. She made her Bollywood debut with 2015 film, Bajirao Mastani, where she was seen in a character role of Bhiubai, Bajirao’s sister.

 

Anuja Sathe was born on 8 October 1987 in Pune. She started her acting career as a theater artist and later moved to television and cinema. She is married to noted Marathi actor Saurabh Gokhale. She made her television debut in 2010 with the series, Agnihotra and Marathi film debut through Asa Mee Ashi Tee in 2013. Since then she has acted in a few Marathi movies, before moved to Bollywood. She played female lead in 2014 Marathi film - Raakhandaar, where she shared screen space with Jitendra Joshi and Ajinkya Deo. Bho Bho, Coffee: Ani Barach Kahi and Ghantaa were her releases later. She played a supporting role in Coffee: Ani Barach Kahi,a  commercial and critical success.

 

From a theatre actress to television actress and anchor and from Marathi films to Bollywood, she has slowly made a positive transition in her professional career. Her childhood days were spent in Pune, where she schooled at Jnana Prabodhini Prashala. She has one elder brother.
