Anthony Biography

Llwellyn Anthony Gonsalves, shortly called Antony is a successful film editor from Tamil Nadu, best known for the association with Gautham Menon and Shankar. Apart from Tamil movies, he has worked in Malayalam and Telugu film industries as well. He has created an identity for film editors in Kollywood with his racy style. Endhiran is one of the costly projects he edited till now and took almost three years to complete the work. In 2004 – Malayalam trendsetter movie ‘4 The people’ earned him Kerala state award for best editor. He has been nominated at Vijay Award for Best Editor four times -  Sivaji: The Boss (2007), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Renigunta (2009) and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), though he is still to earn an award. He has also edited Hindi blockbuster – Aamir Khan – Asin starrer Ghajani. He also edited its original Tamil version as well.

Bheema, Kaakha Kaakha, Vallavan, 7am Arivu, KO, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Payya, Kireedam, Madrasapattinam, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and Thirupathi are other amazing works in Tamil language. He also played a cameo role in Suriya-Jyothika starrer Sillunu Oru Kaadhal in 2006. He is known for the association with Gautham menon and edited his best movies - Kaakha Kaakha, Vaaranam Aayiram and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu.

He completed graduation from MCC College, Tambaram. He was good at drawing and was interested in animation. He learnt about animation in Prasad Studio and in those days an American classmate suggested him to try editing. That’s how he switched on to editing. Kaakkha Kaakha was his debut flick. Before that he has been associated with ad films as an editor. Same year Malayalam flick, Mullavalliyum Thenmavum was also released. But with his success in Tamil movies, he permanently shifted to Collywood and currently one of the hot editors of the film industry.
