Ankita Das Biography 
Ankita Das is an Indian table tennis player. She was born on 17th July 1993 in Darjeeling in India. She is the only table tennis player from India to fly for London Olympics 2012.
She originated from Rabindra Nagar of Siliguri. Her father’s name is Asim Kumar Das and her mother’s name is Sangeeta Das. Her father is a field staff in the Tista project and she is the only child of her parents. She is good in her studies and completed her B.A at Siliguri College. She is employed at a nationalized petroleum company.
She was given training in table tennis when she was four and half years old. Her brilliance in the game took her to great heights. She is playing table tennis in the YMA Club in Siliguri. Her first coach was Amit Dam and later she is coached by Mantu Ghosh and Shubroto Roy.
Her first success came when she won 2 gold medals in Ajmer Cadet Girls Singles Table Tennis in 2003. She was only ten years old at that time. She bagged many more medals in the domestic matches like Chennai Cadet Girls Singles event and Doubles event, Cuttack Junior Girls Doubles, Senior National Ajmer Women’s team, National Level Indore Junior Girls Singles, Youth Girls Singles, Shillong Junior Girls Team Table Tennis, Ponidcherry Sub Junior Girls Singles, etc.
She won gold medals in WJC Canada Cadet Girls Singles 2007, New Zealand WC Cadet Girls 2007 and Cape Town South Africa Cadet Girls Asian Team 2007. She won silver medal in Goa Open Junior Girls 2008 and bronze medal in Korea 12th Asian Under 15 2007 and US Open Junior Girls 2008. She represented India in 2009 Kuwait Open and Qatar Open, Taiyuan Open, English Open at Sheffield and 15th Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship.
