Anjali Biography

Anjali is an Indian film actress who concentrates in Tamil film industry. She started her career in modeling and after performing in few low budget Telugu films entered Tamil film industry through her film Kattradhu Thamizh in the year 2007 which won her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut Actress. Then she won many awards and honors for her performance.

Anjali was born on 23^rd April 1983 in Razole in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. Her mother tongue is Telugu and has two brothers. She completed her 10^th standard in Razole and continued her undergraduate course in mathematics at Chennai. She was into some modeling assignments when she was spotted by director Siva Nageswara Rao. She performed in the Telugu film Photoin 2006.

Her first few films in Telugu did not fare well but her first film in Tamil Kattradhu Thamizh gave her good name. Her beautiful fresh look and performance won her lots of fans. She earned Filmfare awards and Vijay awards for her performance that took her to heights. She acted many other films both in lead roles and as second heroine. Some of them like magizhchi, Rettaisuzhi and Karungali ended up as flops.

Her debut movie in Malayalam was Payyans in 2011. She did a minor role in the film Mankatha which was not much recognized. However, her character in the film Engeyum Eppodhum won her critical acclaim. She won the Best Actor Female for the film Engeyum Eppothum in the online poll conducted by The Times of India.
