Ananya Khare Biography

Ananya Khare is a popular television actress known for supporting and character roles. She is a National award winning actress too. She has also done a few notable roles in Bollywood including Devdas and Chandni Bar. Chandni Bar earned her a National award for best supporting actress for the year 2001. She played the role of Deepa Pandey, a Bar Dancer which bagged her the award. Zaalim and Shool are her other Bollywood releases. Ananya has spent almost three decades in Indian television industry since 1987, thus become one of the senior television actresses who is active still now.

Ananya was born on 16 March 1968 in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Her real name is Preeti Khare, which she changed for films. Though she was born in Madhya Pradesh, the family later shifted to Delhi where she completed her schooling at Holy Child Auxilium School. She learned a master's degree in German Literature from JNU, New Delhi. Ananya can communicate in 10 different languages. Since younger days Ananya wanted to become an actress.

She entered television during the nostalgic age of Doordarshan in the late 1980s. She was seen in Gulzar’s Kirdaar, followed by Nirmala (1987). In 1993 she played a cameo role for the popular comedy sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh. Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, Oh Maria, Mahayagya, Aahat, Movers & Shekhars, Meri maa, Punar Vivah, Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq, Amrit Manthan, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Rang Rasiya are some of her television roles. Currently she appears in Mere Angne Mein, portraying the role of Sarla Aggarwal. She has received several television awards, apart from her film awards.
