Amulya Malladi Biography

Amulya Malladi is an Indian author of 5 novels, who is currently settled in Copenhagen, Denmark with her husband and two sons.  Her novels explore romance and relationships that happen between the most unlikely people in the most unlikely situations and they have appealed the masses to a great extent. Her works handle complex subjects and often connects urban life with other. A Breath of Fresh Air, The Mango Season, Serving Crazy with Curry, The Sound of Language and Song of the Cuckoo Bird are her published works up-to-date.

 

She was born in 1974 in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Her father worked in Indian Army and for the same reason she got opportunity to travel across the nation due to frequent transfers. She completed Electronics Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad and later took Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University Of Memphis, US and started her career as an online editor. She also worked as marketing manager for a software company in the Silicon Valley and later shifted to Denmark where she is currently settled with her family.

 

She began writing at the age of 11 and wrote a handbook of about 50 pages. A Breath of Fresh Air (2002) was her first published book and it was based on her childhood experience. She was living in the city of Bhopal when Bhopal tragedy happened in 1984, killing thousands of life. Her family had a narrow escape as the wind blow was in the opposite direction. Yet she happened to hear the experience of many affected victims and drew those inspirations to write her first novel.
