Amruta Deshmukh Biography

Amruta Deshmukh is a popular television actress associated with Marathi television entertainment. After playing the role of Mayuri Wagh’s sister in law, in the serial ‘Asmita’ on Zee Marathi, she has now bagged the female lead for the Marathi show - ‘Tumcha Aamcha same Asata’ on Star Pravah. Gauri is the name of the character she plays and she is popular nowadays among television viewers of Marathi shows. The show marks Shreyas Talpade’s TV debut as a producer, and produced by Talpade’s home production.

Originally from Pune, Amrutha has now shifted to Mumbai. She completed graduation in Psychology from S. P. College. She also completed Master’s in Mass Communication & Journalism from Ranade Institute affiliated to Pune University. Since college days she has been active in theatre and has participated in several intercollege competitions. She has also bagged a silver medal for best actress, in one such intercollege competition.

To pursue her dreams she reached Mumbai and attended a few auditions for movies. But it was not easy for her to get a break to entertainment industry. So she worked as a journalist for a while before giving a second try. She worked as intern for two months as a journalist with TV 9 channel during this time. The serial ‘Asmita’ on Zee Marathi marked her debut in a supporting role, followed by Pudcha Paul. Some of her photos also appeared in the Viva Diva contest by Loksatta.

In 2015 she bagged her first show as female lead – Gauri, a psychologist in Tumcha Aamcha same Asata’ - a contemporary love story. She is being paired with Stavan Shinde who plays the role of Ishant and other pivot roles are handled by Anand Ingale, Kavita Lad, Mandar Kulkarni etc. The show is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
