Amol Redij Biography

Amol Redij is an Indian writer who writes in English. He is a poet, creative content designer and also writes plays and scripts for short films. This budding poet in the field of Indian English literature made his poetry debut through ‘Silent Moments of melancholy’. Most recently he finished writing a fictional novel. Though he studied IT, he was never into IT profession. He is associated with IT as a creative content writer and also does technical documentation. Yet he keeps balance with his profession and writing.

 

Redij was born on 18 September 1977 in Mumbai. He did his primary education at St. Paul High School, Mumbai and later moved to Gurgaon in 1984. He completed Electronics Engineering from University of Pune in 1999. He married an IT professional in 2011. Same year he published his first collection of poetry - Silent Moments of Melancholy. The book is a collection of 66 poems on themes on sadness like – agony, solitude, nostalgia, desperation and dejection in love. The Mill Man’s Magic, Colours of Life, Abnegation, Delusion, Paragon, State of Mind and Confined are among the 66 poems in his first book.

 

His second published anthology was a collection of 69 poems titled - 69: The Otherwise Poetry. In 2013, he published his poem Ecstasy in a magazine. Since school days he was attracted to theatre and he wrote plays since then. He has also directed a few plays during his college days. He also assists directors in short film making. He is also a movie maniac and loves to read a lot of books. He loves to read poetry most.
