Ami Trivedi Biography

Ami Trivedi is a theatre artist and successful television actress. Her most popular roles are "Kittu" in Kituu Sab Janti Hai and "Kokila" in popular comedy sitcom Papad Pol. Apart from being a well known celebrity of Gujarati theatre she has also worked as a dubbing artist of Gujarati cinema. She is the daughter of well-known Gujarati theatre actor, Tushar Trivedi. Her elder brother, Karan Trivedi is also a theatre actor and voice-over artist. Ami has given her voice to Daniel Radcliffe’s role as "Harry Potter" in the Hindi dubbed version of Harry Potter Series - 1. She has also done dubbing for a few more animated movies.

Ami was born on 15 July 1982 in Mumbai in a family with good theatre background. Her father Tushar Trivedi has the experience of more than 20 years in Gujarati theatre. Thus Ami and her brother began to do child artist roles in their father’s plays. She also appeared as child artist in a few Hindi and Gujarati television serials and alter took a break for it during middle 1990’s to concentrate on to studies. She graduated in science from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. She dreamt to become a doctor. But it didn’t happen and she became a popular artist of television as well as theatre. As she was born in a family with strong theatre background, it was easy for her to get roles in plays. She got offers from television also.

Her first break to television was through Babul Ki Duwayen Leti Jaa, where she did a bit role followed by Khichdi, Dil Chaahta Hai and Kumkum- Ek Pyra Sa Bandhan. Later, Ami, auditioned for Kituu Sab Janti Hai and bagged the lead heroine’s role. In 2009, she played lead role in Doordarshan’s Bajega Band Baaja. In 2010, she got her third lead role in comedy sitcom Papad Pol. A few of her Gujarati plays include - Hoonj Taro Eeshwar, Mahapurush, Carry On Lalu, Avataran, Resham Dankh, Pappa Padhravo Savdhaan and Gujjubhai E Gaam Gajavyu.
