Aman Verma Biography

Aman Verma is a successful television actor and anchor. He hosted India’s first singing reality show based on viewer’s vote – Indian Idol season 1 aside Mini Mathur in 2004. Game show Khullja Sim Sim on Star Plus and and Zee TV's Zee Cinestars are other successful programs hosted by Aman. He has also appeared in a few Bollywood movies. His Bollywood debut happened with the movie, Sangursh in 1999. He played Preity Zinta’s friend role in the movie. The most popular song of the movie “Ab mujhe raat din bas” sung by Sonu Nigam, was sync-liped by Aman. Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye and Koi hai are two Bollywood movies where he played lead roles.

Aman’s acting debut happened in the year 1987 with Doordarshan serial, Pachpan Khambe laal Diwar. He debut Bollywood in the year 1999 with the movie Sangursh playing supporting role. Later he appeared in Bollywood movies like Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye, Gandhi to Hitler, Baghban, Lamhaa, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, Superstar, EMI, Tum - A Dangerous Obsession, Andaz, Dosti: Friends Forever, Koi hai, Tees Maar Khan, Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai and Jaan-E-Mann.

His successful television serials include – Samundar, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hai, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath, Teen Bahuraaniyaan, Kehta Hai Dil, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Paas Ho Tum Door Bhi, Pachpan Khambe Lal Deewarein, Virasat and Sujata. He played Raavan’s role in Ramleela - Ajay Devgn Ke Saath. In 2003, he received Best Actor in a Lead Role – Male at Indian Telly Awards for his memorable performance in Kehta hai dil. In 2006, he received best actor in a negative role for his performance in Viraasat at Indian Television Academy Awards. Aman Verma's name was associated with  a casting couch sting operation which was aired on India TV on March 2005. It followed a setback in his career though he returned back after 5 years.
