Alpesh Dhakan Biography
Alpesh Dhakan is a television actor, best known for portraying the character role of Lord Ganesha in the most popular mythological series - Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev on the channel Life OK. He started his career with a Tagore play in Kolkata in 2008, as a child artist. Started off with plays, he later associated with television. His first television break came in 2011 in the serial Sanskaar Laxmi aired on Zee TV and later appeared in Parichay — Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, Kya Hua Tera Vadaa, FIR, Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava, Savitri etc. But he shot to fame after portraying Lord Ganesha on mini screen.
Alpesh was born in Mumbai to a Gujarati family to Jagdish Amrutlal Dhakan and Kapila Jagdish Dhakan. His family is into a traditional business. He studied at Poorna Prajna High School. Since childhood he got attracted to plays. Though there is a traditional business, his father supported his decision. In 2008, he became a stage actor for the first time in Kolkata, where he appeared in Rabindranath Tagore’s Achalayatan. He got an early break at Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai and it was offered by Manoj Shah. He appeared in Prithvi Theatre’s Muktidhaam in 2009, which was a big success. It was followed by the success of Gandhi Before Gandhi, the following year.
In 2011, he made his television debut through Sanskaar Laxmi which aired on Zee TV, followed by a series of roles. Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev was his real breakthrough. His role as Ganesha won audience’s hearts. He also appeared on Comedy Nights with Kapil and a few shows in a guest role apart from television commercials.
