Alok Nath Biography

Alok Nath is a Bollywood actor who works in television serials as well. He has been associated with Rajshree productions for more than two decades and has appeared in father’s roles in their movies like Meine Pyar kiya, Hum saath saath hai, Hum aapke hain kaun, Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi and Vivaah. He is a popular choice of character artist in Bollywood. He is a successful serial actor too. His roles in the movie Taal, Pardes and Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai also need special mention. He has also worked as a villain in the movies - Bol Radha Bol, Vinashak – Destroyer and Shadyantra. He has also appeared in Oscar award winning movie Gandhi (1982).  Among all his shows, the role of Haveli Ram in Ramesh Sippy's television series, Buniyaad is most popular.

 

Alok Nath was born in Mumbai on July 10, 1956 and started his career as a child artist. He was an employee of Kitply India from 1973 until 1995. He didn’t take movies seriously and post Hum aapke hain kaun success, he resigned from job to do his film commitments. His first significant role of this kind was Doordarshan serial Buniyad, long back in 1987. His first significant work for a movie was playing the role of Bhagyashree’s father in the movie – Meine pyar kiya. He was quite young that time, yet he accepted ‘father’ roles as it suit him the best. He has also worked in movies – Saaransh and Mashaal during 1980s.
