Akshaya Premnath Biography

Akshaya Premnath is a budding actress associated with south Indian film industry. She is best known for playing the best buddy of lead heroine Nazriya Nazim in the Malayalam blockbuster hit, Om Shanti Osana released in 2014. The movie also marked Akshaya’s acting debut. Following the film’s success, she also bagged her first Tamil film in the lead role – Venn Diagram. But the film got delayed for some reason. Currently Akshaya is settled with her family life. She is married to Prithvi Rajan, son of Tamil veteran actor, Pandi Rajan.

Akshaya Premnath hails from Kochi, Ernakulam. She completed her schooling in Mahatma Gandhi Public School in Kochi. Later she completed BTech in Computer Science at TocH Institute of Science and Technology. Her first break to films was given by director Jude Anthany who also forayed into film direction field through Om Shanti Osana. Akshaya was casted as Nazriya’s best friend who marries Vineeth Sreenivasan’s character at the film climax. This fun-filled entertainer was a huge hit and Akshaya’s character was well received. Akshaya received her first film role in 2014 while she was doing her Engineering course at Kochi.

She received her major break to Tamil films through Jey Krishna's directorial venture 'Venn Diagram', where Akshaya secured a lead role. It’s not a commercial film, and intended for film festivals and theatre circle, and it’s based on the theme – Black Magic. The movie will be shot at London and Chennai, and the film’s director has earlier worked as assistant of N. Lingusamy. However the film is yet to take off.

In 2016 May, she got married to Tamil actor Pandiarajan’s youngest son Prithvi Rajan in a private ceremony and later a star-studded reception was attended by famous celebrities from Tamil film industry like Vijay, Murugadoss, Nassar, Shantanu, Poornima Bhagyaraj etc.
