Akhila Sasidharan Biography

Akhila Sasidharan is a south Indian film actress who concentrates most on Malayalam. She had two successful movies back to back with top two actors of Malayalam film industry – Dileep and Prithviraj. She made her film debut through Kaaryasthan (2010) which was Dileep’s 100th movie. She played the female lead. The movie was one of the biggest hits of the year. The movie was directed by Thomson. K. Thomas. Her second movie, Teja Bhai & Family was released in 2011, in which she played female lead opposite Prithviraj. The movie belonging to comedy genre too was a huge hit and noted for its ensemble star cast.  She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who has won many contests including 2007 Vodafone Thakadhimi runner up title for Asianet.

She was born in Kozhikode in 1989. She studied at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, Chevayur. Her brother Vishak Sasidharan is a popular orator. She was associated with dance and other extra-curricular activities throughout her academic years. Yet she has been excellent in academics. She is trained in Kerala’s martial arts – Kalaripayattu. She became Asianet’s Vodafone Thakadhimi runner up in 2007 which helped her to get the anchor’s role for Munch Star Singer Junior for Asianet.

She made her film debut through Kaaryastan in 2010, where she played a traditional girl. In his second movie, Teja Bhai & Family she appeared in an extremely different lookup. She is learning Kalaripayattu since 4 years old. She has been training from Hindusthan Kalari Sanghamam for the last 5 years, as Kalari can help her a lot in doing dance forms.
