Akhil Mishra Biography

Akhil Mishra is a veteran actor of theatre, Bollywood and television known for supporting and character roles. He played the role of Librarian Dubey in the historic Bollywood movie, 3 Idiots. Though it was a friendly appearance, the role was well noticed. He is married to German actress Suzanne Bernert. They have together worked in many television serials including Mera Dil Dewaana for Doordarshan and a Bollywood movie Kram. After marriage, they set up a theater group Vijeta and both are associated with it. Later too, they have appeared in many television shows. They first married in a civil court on 3 February 2009, followed by a traditional marriage two years later.

 

As a character artist, his noted Bollywood movies include Radio, Blue Oranges, Don, Gandhi: My father, Shikhar, Kareeb, Kram, Kamla Ki Maut, Calcutta mail, Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain. He has also played noted roles in television series since 1980’s. He has been associated with Doordarshan series like Bharat ek khoj, Rajani and Dhat Tere...Ki. He played the role of Lal Bahadur Shastri in political documentary series of ABP News, Pradhanmantri. Now he also works in the serial Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se. The Adventures of Hatim, CID and Uttaran are other noted works.

 

He portrayed Veer Singh Bundela’s father in Uttaran on Colors TV. This popular serial has completed 1000 episodes and one of the best works of Mishra up to date. Mishra was first married to Manju Mishra in 1983. She died in 1997. Mishra married the popular German actress Suzanne Bernert in 2009.
