Ajeesh Biography

Ajeesh Ashok is an Indian playback singer associated with Tamil cinema. He has also sung some in other languages like Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu. Winner of the second season of Vijay TV Airtel 'Super Singer' in 2010, the reality show provided him the big break to the music industry. In 2013 , Ajeesh also released his first musical album 'Rain College Love', sung and composed by himself.

 

He was encouraged a lot by his mentor, Yuvan Shankar Raja, who gave him the break to playback singing. His song ‘Idhu Vare’ for the movie – Goa in 2010 bagged him numerous awards like Vijay Music Award Best Melody of 2010 and Mirchi Music Award for Best Debut Singer and also a nomination at Vijay Music Award for Best Debut Singer. He sang the beautiful duet aside - Andrea Jeremiah. The song also won Popular Duet of the Year 2010.

 

2010 proved to be the big year for Ajeesh in his music career. After winning the reality show, he received a string of songs from Tamil film industry and most of them turned to be chartbusters giving him numerous awards and nominations. He became the new singing sensation with his debut song for Goa – ‘Idhu Vare’. Ajeesh completed graduation in Visual communication from Chennai. He was roped in by Vijay Antony to sing 'Thooral podum' for the movie Utthama Putthiran, followed by Idupazhagi song from the movie, Arumbu Meesai Kurumbu Paarvai with Saindhavi.

 

2011 was a dull year for Ajeesh whithout any song. However he returned the following year; sang three versions of a single song in three languages for Anirudh Ravichander for the movie, ‘3’. He sang Tamil track ‘Idhazhin Oram’ and two tracks from Hindi and Telugu respectively. Nenjukkulla Nee of Vadacurry and Kangalai Oru of Thegedi are other popular songs.
