Aindrita Ray is a noted Kannada actress. She debut the industry in the year 2007 with the movie, Meravanige and later went on appearing in numerous commercial hits. Now she is one of the most established actors of the industry. Her role as Devika, a mentally challenged girl, in Manasaare is the most critically acclaimed performance. This single role gave her numerous awards including - AKKA Best Actress Award, Suvarna Best Actress and South Scope Best Kannada Actress. The movie also gave her a Filmfare nomination for best actress in a lead role. Veera Parampare and Paramathma are next two popular roles which gave her a few awards and nominations.

Aindrita Ray was born in a Bengali family in Rajasthan. Her childhood was spent in Udaipur and later the family moved to Mumbai. Her father, A. K. Ray is a prosthodontist in the Indian Air Force and regular job transfers shifted them from one place to another. Her mother, Sunita Ray, is a child psychologist. The family got finally settled at Bangalore. After completing schooling at Baldwin Girls High School, Bangalore she pursued a bachelor's degree in dental science. While studying, she did modelling and television ads. She later appeared in short films which paved her direct way to Kannada movies. Now she is an established actress in both Kannada and Amateur cinema.

Her debut movie, Meravanige opposite Prajwal Devaraj was moderate success at box office. Later she appeared in brief roles in Mast Majaa Madi and Love guru. Veera Parampare released in 2010 was a commercial hit. She received nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actress also. Same year she debut Bollywood with the movie, A Flat. In 2011, Paramathma gave her SIIMA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and a Filmfare nomination. She is to debut Bengali cinema with Bachchan opposite Bengali superstar Jeet.
