Achu Rajamani Biography

Achu Rajamani, shortly known as Achu is a south Indian music director and playback singer of new generation. He is most successful with Telugu movies in the recent times. He has scored music for all the four south Indian languages and he became a full-fledged music director with Telugu movie - Nenu Meeku Telusa...? in 2008. He was born in a family of musicians who have composed music for films. His father Rajamani has scored music for more than 800 films including all south Indian languages. His grandfather B. A. Chidambaranath is considered to be one among the pioneer music directors of Malayalam music industry.

 

As he was born in a music family, he was interested in music since young age. He is also a professional pianist and has worked in many movies, assisting his father playing piano. His graduation was completed at Loyola College, Hyderabad. He first played keyboard for Malayalam film Keerthi Chakra (2006) for the director Mayor Ravi. Ravi was impressed by his work and when the sequel of Keerthi Chakra was made two years later, he gave Achu the assignment of its music score. The movie was Kurukshetra, released in 2008. Very soon he got his major break when he got opportunity to compose the songs and background score for Telugu film Nenu Meeku Telusa...? the same year. When same film was remade in Tamil and titled as Ennai Theriyuma, he collaborated with its composer Dharan for its music score.

 

In 2009, he gave music to Telugu movie, Kurradu which was noticed too. He started working as a playback singer and "Take It Easy" for the Malayalam film Happy Husbands was a chartbuster of the year 2010. His first full-fledged Tamil movie was Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey. DK Bose, Om 3D, Potugadu and Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda are his latest Telugu projects.
