Achint Kaur Biography

Achint Kaur is an Indian actress known for supporting roles. She is associated with Bollywood, theatre as well as television. She started her career in the early 1990’s through television and later portrayed several memorable character roles in Bollywood. She is best known for antagonist’s role in Ekta Kapoor's soap operas - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Star Plus. Om Jai Jagadish, Anamika, Julie, Haunted 3D, Sur – The melody of love, Jo bhi kahen hum and Corporate are her noted Bollywood movies. Most recently she appeared in 2 states (2014), where she played the role of Shipra Masi.

Kaur was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. She completed her education in her hometown itself. She started her acting career in 1994 with Zee TV's Banegi Apni Baat. In 1995, she appeared in Doordarshan’s Swabhiman, one of the earliest soap sagas of Indian television. The show was scripted by Shobha De and Vinod Ranganath and directed by Mahesh Bhatt and she played the character, Soha. Aletr she appeared in television serials like Kittie Party, Saaya, Kaala Sona, Piya Ka Ghar, Parchhaiyan, Dhadkan etc till Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi happened to her. This popular television serial placed her as the top actress of small screen to play antagonist’s role. She played female lead in Saaya and Parchayiyan.

Later she played antagonist role in numerous television series like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Karam Apnaa Apnaa. She was last seen on small screen in Jhansi Ki Rani in 2011. Tere Mere Sapne, Virrudh and Ranbir Rano are other popular roles. She received ITA Award for Best Supporting Actress for Virudh in 2008.
