Aarushi Talwar Biography

Aarushi Talwar was a 14 year old teenager from Noida whose death attracted nationwide attention. Aarushi, along with her 45-year-old Hemraj, a domestic help were brutally murdered on the night of 15–16 May 2008 at Aarushi's home and the prime accused are none other than Aarushi’s parents, Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar. Both are dentists. The role of robbers and former servants has been ruled out.

Aarushi Talwar was born on 24 May 1994 and she was a 14-year-old student at the Delhi Public School. She was a single child to her parents. The family lived in an apartment in Sector 25 of Noida and the couple practised in a clinic at Sector 25. Hemraj was their domestic help, a native from Nepal. Aarushi was found dead in her bedroom on 16 May 2008. It was first witnessed by her parents followed by their newly appointed maid, Bharti Mandal. Aarushi's throat was slit and the whole room and walls were filled by blood, except her bed. Both the parents accused that it was Hemant who commited the crime and asked police to search him. Thus Hemraj became the prime suspect. However on 17^th May, Hemaraj’s corpse was found in their terrace and Talwars turned to be the prime suspects. Police ruled out the entry of a third person into the apartment and many of the evidences have been washed off!   

Investigations are going on and there are many reasons for police and media to suspect Talwars as the killers. It was pretty clear that both Aarushi and the maid had tense relationship with Rajesh Talwar. It was also stated that Rajesh had an extra-marital relationship with his colleague Anita Durrani and both Aarushi and her maid were aware of this fact, though both the families denied the matter later. It was also stated Aarushi and Hemraj had started a relationship and Hemraj used to blackmail Rajesh for his extra marital affair. The police suspected that Rajesh had murdered the two after finding them in an "objectionable" position and Mrs. Talwar assisted him to destroy the proofs. Police also suspect it’s a story of honour killing.
