Aadesh Shrivastava Biography

Aadesh Shrivastava is a film music director as well as a singer. He has hosted many reality shows in Indian television as well. His wife is a Bollywood actress of 80’s – Vijetha Pandit, the sister of Jatin-Lalit composers. So, music is filled in his family. He has done background score of many movies as well. Some of those movies include Dushman, Chalte chalte, Hassena maan jaayegi, Bada dilwala, Garv, Zameen, Mayor Saab, Border, Refugee, Paheli and Lakeer.  His best works as a music director include Bas itna sa khwab hai, Aao pyar karein, Lal badshaah, Shastra, Rajneethi, Babul, Ram shastra, Sandwitch, Chalte chalte, Baghpan, Dahek, Joru ka ghulam, Shikari and Kuwara.

 

In his early childhood, Aadesh wanted to become a doctor. But passion towards music prompted him to learn classical music. Later he shifted to Mumbai and has served as drum artist to many great composers of Bollywood music. His first break to Bollywood was Kanyadan in 1993. But the movie was not released. His second project Jaane Tamanna was also a setback. But his third project ‘Aao pyar karein’ was a hit in Bollywood. The movie starred Saif Ali Khan and Shilpa Shetty in leading roles and its songs like ‘Haathom mein aaga jo kal rumaal’ and ‘Chand se parda keejiye’ were well noticed. He struck again with Shastra of Suniel Shetty and new comers ‘Salma pe dil aa gaya’. Both were well noticed. The fast number ‘Kya ada kya jalwe tere paaro’ of Shastra was a big chartbuster during 1996.

 

His best works are Kunwara, Bus itna sa khwaab hai, Tarkeeb and Shikari. Dupatte of Tarkeeb, Bahut khubsurat gazal likh raha hoon of Shikari sung by Kumar sanu and all songs of Govinda-Urmila starrer Kuwara were well noticed. This movie includes comic song similar to breathless sung by Sonu Nigam and Vinod rathore ‘Sun mere sasur’ appealed music lovers. Songs like ‘Urmila’, ‘Na heera na moti’ and title track of the movie placed this music director in limelight.

 

He has served as a judge for Sa re ga ma pa Challenge 2005 and has associated himself with many international pop stars like Akon, Julia Fordham and Wyclef Jean. He has been diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and has undergone chemotherapy. It was again reported in the media on 31 August 2015 that his cancer had relapsed for a third time since 2010 and that he had been hospitalised for more than a month. He died, in a coma, at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute, Mumbai, on 5 September 2015.
