Importance of MahaMrutyunjaya Mantra:

Maha Mrutyunjaya Mantra (chant)  is known as the chant which will defeat the death and it is also called as Trayambaka Mantra. It is believed to be one of the most powerful chant for curing.

This MahaMrutyunjaya Mantra is dedicated  to Lord Shiva. There’s a saying that it was created by Rishi Markandeya. Previously it was a secret chant by Rishi Markandeya. But once the Moon was blamed  by the king Daksha Prajapathi and lost his power & brightness. At that time markandeya saved him by giving him this chant.

Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrutyormukshiya mamrutat……..

This is the mrutyunjaya mantram or chant. The meaning of this chant is as follows.

We’re praying the lord Shiva who’s sacred and who’s responsible for giving energy to all. As the cucumber gets separated from its place when it’s riped , in the same way lord Shiva will lead us to the eternity from the death.Maha mrutyunjaya Mantra will describe  2 major points about lord Shiva. One is, it describes the lord with Three Eyes(popularly known as mukkanti). Second one is when we’re in the fear of death we’ll be saved by the lord Shiva.                                                                                                 

Lord YAMA has taken the responsibilities to take the deaths of people and to improve the balance of the world and nature. So because of this humans started to fear and worry about their death .To save humans from  all these  fears, lord Shiva has given this chant or mantra to the humanrace.In temples the priests(archakas ) will chant this mantra for sure if a person is severely sick, and do devote lord Shiva. Pressure, frustration, sickness or the fear of sudden death this chant will give the relief and saves us.                                                                                        

This Mantra can be chanted at anytime. A person can chant this 108 times. Because it’ll be having good calculative and spiritual values. And the multiplication of 12 and 9 will result in 108.here 12 will denote Zodiac signs and 9 will denote  planets. People should chant this mantra to be peaceful from the up downs caused by life and to have a good life. Chanting of Maha Mrutyunjaya Mantra will also help in developing one’s concentration and even helps in having peaceful sleep.
