Hot Tourist Spots Of Kerala

Each travel gives us something new – an experience that we have never met before. Now it is summer holidays and hence, let me welcome you to God’s own country and tell you in brief, what are those locations that have been sited as ‘all-time favourites’.

The land of Gem stones

Let us begin from capital city Thiruvananthapuram – the southern tip of Kerala. The most enjoyable journey will be to Ponmudi. Even at hot summer of Vishu season, you can witness fog along with rain during noon. Years back, gems were mined from these places and still you can see such pits.

Not only the hill station, but also the capital city with temples, zoo and museum needs one full day to watch. Meenmutti water falls, golden valley, Neyyar dam, forests and associated parks are must places to see. If you have sufficient time, you can go to Varkala Sivagiri Ashram as well.

The person who see Kollam

Thenmala, Chentharuni wild life sanctuary and a boating from Kollam to Alapuzha attract tourists most. The boating starts from Kollam and it travels through the backwaters of Ashtamudi lake and passes through Chavara, Alumkadavu, Vallakadavu, Kayamkulam lake, Ambalapuzha and finally reaches Alapuzha by Vembanad lake. You can have a trekking at Jadayu rock of Chadayamangalam too.

Through the backwaters of Kochi

If you love birds, Thattekad is the best option. A bird sanctuary with the name of Salim Ali situated at the banks of Periyar river. You can include Bhoothathankettu and Kodanad elephant sanctuary too. The remains of Portuguese and Jews’ culture still attract tourists. Chinese net, called ‘Cheena vala’ in Malayalam – a net that stands still on water, is a treat to everyone.

Kumarakom is the hot spot of Kottayam

If a tourist visits Kerala, he can never miss a boat ride at Kumarakom. You can see 1000’s of birds around the backwaters of Kumarakom. Important hillstation is wagamon. The second one is Ilavezham Poonchira that stands near Idukki.

Gavy of Pathanamthitta

Best destination is Gavy from where you get a nice treat of forests. You can see wild animals like elephants and rhinoceros while you travel through Gavy. You can go to Aramula too – The place famous for Aramula mirror and lakes.

Idukki and Thekkady

Thekkady is the hot destination of Idukki. Wild life sanctuary and boat rides are special treats of Idukki. You can visit Idukki Dam too, built across Periyar river.
