  We are living in Sivagalai village since the year 1225.This village is located in Tuticorin District of Tamil Nadu. This village has a vinayagar temple named SORANATHATEMPLE, has Lord Siva(Chokkanathar),Sakthi(Meenatchi),Soranatha vinayagar is main god of this temple .Also it has lot of another god and goddess.
  Since the year 1225 (this is the Sivagalai civilization year of the Nungudi vellaler people and orgin of sivagalai) our people were establishing ,worshiping and following the Saivam.
  Some hundred years later the temple was modified and some people of Hindu Nungudi vellaler community gave and donated property to this temple for the maintenance of temple and POOJA.
  In the mean time in the year of 70-80 Sivagalai People was suffering from famine and some scarcity of finance they can not run and maintain the temple. So they cannot maintain the temple.
  Some year later Tamilnadu government undertook this temple under the HRC department.
  But the temple’s building and Pooja condition is very poor. So our village peoples are unsatisfied
  Different types of trees are growing on and in of the temple.
  Some sundari (udai) trees are growing inside the campus.
  This temple has strong stone compound wall, but the front side of the compound has not wall and Gate.
  So the animals and dangerous insects like snakes and scorpions are roaming in this area .
  Now our village people has decided to undertake the temple and maintain it.

  NUNGUDI VELLALER is one of the five vellaler like SIVA VELLALER ,VELAN GOWNDAR, VELAN MUTHALI, VELAN KARAR .
  KORKAI is the native place of NUNGUDI VELLALER so Sivagalai Pillaimar is also called as Korkai pillaimar.
  Tamil is their mother tongue. Majority of this community peoples are living the srrounding area of Tuticorin
  Agriculture was the major profession of this community people. They are hard worker and was being VERY LAND LORD. They donated their land to other community people and government to bring the basic need like school, hospital and etc.

  SIVAGALAI IS LOCATED IN THE SRIVAIKUNTAM TALUK OF TUTICORIN DIST. HINDU NUNGUDI VELLLER COMMUNITY PEOPLES ARE LIVING IN THE VILLAGE.
  IT IS A HISTORICAL VILLAGE . IN THE YEAR 1226 THIS PEOPLE CAME AND STARTED THE NEW CIVILIZTION
  HOW IS THE NAME (SIVAGALAI) COME TO THIS VILLAGE?
  
  NANCHEI AND PUNCHEI WERE/ARE GROWING IN THIS AREA SO IT WAS CALLED AS CHEIVELLAI.
  100 BEFORE THE PEOPLE ARE BECAME THE FOLLOWER OF THE LORD SIVA OF PERUNKULAM TEMPLE SO THIS VILLAGE NAME CHANGED AS SIVAGALAI
