Though Dhanush is a very popular actor of Tamil cinema, he is known India wide for his ‘Koleveri’ song. Megastar Rajnikanth’s tag is also associated with him. He has been appreciated as well as criticized for the brainless song of the movie ‘3’.  But only a few people know that he has proved as a well talented actor as well. He has won National award for best actor for the Tamil movie ‘Aadukulam’ in 2011, just before the Koleveri song hit the charts. Now through the movie ‘Raanjhanaa’ he has made a promising entry to Bollywood. The movie released on June 21^st has been declared hit by Box office India, thus giving promising dreams for this young hero. Its Tamil version was released on 28^th June. He plays the role of an obsessive lover who ruins many people as well as his own life as he is madly in love with a Muslim girl. He played the role in his own style thus surprising the audience. Though the movie has got mixed reviews and his acting skills were welcomed as well as criticized, the movie is doing pretty well at theatres. A.R.Rehman’s music has also played a significant role in making his debut successful.

His talent was well noticed with his first movie ‘Kadhal Kondein’ in 2003. His role as a poor distorted guy and obsessive lover was very much appreciated a decade back. This smash entry has given him many good roles and fame in Tamil movie world. In 2011, a single music video along with Kamal Hassan’s daughter gave him international fame as well. Now, it’s the right step for a popular actor of Indian screen to entry Bollywood and through Anand L.Rai’s Raanjhanaa, Bollywood got another genre of story plot and filmy style entirely different from normal Bollywood romantic stories. The actors have also given the best including the heroine Sonam Kapoor who has been always criticized for her terrible acting skills. When the entire team of actors gave the best, the team effort worked and it’s showing at box office too.

In a film review, Dhanush’s performance was praised as ‘here comes a romantic hero of rare breed’. Through the role of Brahmin boy, Kundan Shankar played by Dhanush, though he has not promised a blockbuster entry to Bollywood, he has showed signs that he has made a fresh start there and that we can expect much more from this actor very soon. All the best for his successful new journey of his life.
